Apex RC Support

Updated 1 day ago

This guide shows you how to set up your Apex RC products, fix the “it won’t move” problem, and charge batteries safely. Start with the section that matches your product.

RC Cars & Trucks

Start here for most Apex RC vehicles.

Basic setup

  1. Charge the vehicle battery fully before first run.
  2. Turn the controller ON first.
  3. Plug the battery into the vehicle and turn the vehicle on.
  4. Wait for the LED to turn solid — binding finished.
  5. Test steering, then throttle.

Tip

Grass, sand and cold weather reduce runtime — this is normal.

Car turns on but won’t move
  • Check ESC / throttle plug is in CH2 on the receiver.
  • Make sure the battery is actually charged.
  • Check for loose motor wires or stuck drivetrain.
Steering works, throttle doesn’t

Re-bind using the controller steps below and make sure throttle trim on the controller isn’t set too low.

RC Boats

For boats like TX123.

  • Turn the controller on first.
  • Many boats arm only when water contacts are wet — test in water.
  • Keep antenna above deck for best range.
Boat has steering but no throttle

Put the boat in water so the safety contacts touch. If it still won’t move, re-bind or check for weeds around the prop.

Controllers / Binding

Use this if your controller won’t connect.

  1. Turn off both the vehicle and the controller.
  2. Turn the controller on and hold the bind/pair button (if present).
  3. Turn the vehicle on while close to the controller.
  4. Wait for the LED to turn solid.
Range is weak (only a few meters)
  • Straighten the vehicle antenna.
  • Use fresh AA batteries in the controller.
  • Don’t wrap the antenna around metal parts.

Battery & Charging

Safety rules for Apex RC batteries.

  • Use the charger that came with your product.
  • Charge on a flat, non-flammable surface.
  • Let the battery cool after a run before charging again.
  • Never leave batteries charging unattended.
Charger light stays red

The battery may have been very low — leave it on charge up to 2 hours. If it never turns green, contact support.

The CH2 note fixed my car — thanks!

Glad it helped! Most of our trucks use CH1 = steering, CH2 = throttle.

Can you add pictures for binding? My controller is a different shape.
